     Strand

Welcome to my Strand page! I do a lot of fun things in my strand classes, especially my Holocaust and Genocide class where we learn more about the Holocaust and do fun/creative projects. I am in the Academic Strand. I have my strand classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. My two classes are "Holocaust and Genocide" and "Transformational Leadership"! I will tell you about some of my favorite things that I did in these 2 classes that I will have for Quarters 1&2. My Holocaust and Genocide studies focuses on the meaning of holocaust vs Holocaust and how Jews were dehumanized during the Holocaust. We also learn about different types of genocides and we did a fun project that you can learn about in the Quarter 1 and 2 Strand Sub-pages! My period 2 is Transformational Leadership which was actually about the education field but it could also really help with working with kids, because I am planning on being a pediatrician as my career, a children's doctor. Later, I'll update this page for the strand classes I'll have in Quarters 3&4.

Lucky you! It's time for me to update my Strand page for all of you to see! I am currently in Quarter 3 so I will share with you my new strand classes that I am in! My first period class is now Young Author's Corner, in which we will eventually write a novel or a form of a story. Also, here's a fun fact about yours truly, I have actually written a novel before! I showed it to one of my friends, and she really liked it! I hope to write another one, maybe about social issues or a horror story...But for now, we are exploring writing techniques and our favorite authors. It is really fun, especially since one of the funnest and one of my favorite teachers, Mrs. LaMadrid! Not that I have a favorite....which I don't, honest! Anyways, it's a really fun class! I look forward to it every day! Also, my other new strand class is Trigonometry in Careers. Now, I'm going to admit, I was not sure about this class. My math teacher told me how much she hated trigonometry in high school/college and how it was difficult. But I was partially interested in learning how such complex math could fit into careers, more importantly if it could work for my dream career, a pediatrician! It's mostly about triangles and sine, cosine and tangent. You'll learn about it when you're older- or now, depending on what grade you're in. Anyways that's it for now! I am really enjoying my classes and learning much more!
